Charleston's 4th Annual Spring Jazz Jam

Charleston is celebrating National Jazz Appreciation Month with the 4th Annual Spring Jam! Hosted by Charleston Jazz Club owner Dennis Fassuliotis and Chris Williams, one of the Lowcountry's highest regarded instrumental musicians. Just as before, the Spring Jazz Jam is an unscripted, unrehearsed four-hour live music experience featuring many of the best jazz musicians in Charleston.
This evening features an incredible rhythm section including the amazing Chris Williams on Sax, Noah Jones on Keys, Wayne Mitchum on Bass, Jimmy Ward on guitar, and JT Rollerson on drums. Charleston's Bossa Nova king, Duda Lucena returns for his annual appearance along with the bedrock of the Charleston jazz community including favorites like Goerge Kenney, Oscar Rivers Jr. and Lonnie Hamilton.
Charleston Jazz Club is working in partnership with the Skipp Pearson Jazz Legacy Foundation, Coastal Carolina University, the Gold Key Jazz Society of South Carolina, and the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for a special observance and celebration of the 2018 National Jazz Appreciation Month and International Jazz Week in South Carolina
The Skipp Pearson Jazz Legacy Foundation designed the programming for NJAM and IJW in SC to bring together all communities to learn about the origin, history and continued development of Jazz music in addition to helping the world celebrate "the virtues of Jazz Music" as an educational tool, force for peace, instrument for intercultural dialogue and global cooperation.
Mayor John Tecklenburg will make a special guest appearance for the evening with his with his wife Sandy. Mayor & Mrs. Tecklenburg selected the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry as the beneficiary of fundraising efforts. The Charleston Jazz Club is also pleased to announce that they also are able to accept Bitcoin and other crypto currencies for sponsorships and purchases. There is no admission fee, but everyone is asked to bring a minimum donation of $10 per person and to purchase a minimum of one food item and beverage in support of this event.
