Charleston's Bossa Nova king, Duda Lucena, a founding member of the Club returns for his annual appearance along with the bedrock of the Charleston jazz community including favorites like George Kenney, Oscar Rivers Jr., Steve Simon, Bobbie Storm and many others.

In April, 2018, City of Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and his wife, Sandy, selected the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry as the recipient of the of the 2018 Mayor’s Charity Choice Award. The 9th Annual Charleston Jazz Jam will continue that fundraising effort and benefit the Children’s Museum. Mayor John Tecklenburg is expected to make a special guest appearance for the evening.
